The Vedi should be floured as per your Pundits advice and his seat should be comfortable and placed to allow him to face north.

Your seat should allow you to face east.

It is a good investment to purchase a masala kathora which is a round silver ware with small cup like containers that you can empty all your Pooja materials from the Pooja bag. It is very neat and make Pooja preparation so much easier and neater.

Also you can purchase a set of white ,red or yellow sheets for Pooja only to sit upon.
Kalsa, pari and deeyas should be washed and dried. Deeyas should be fixed neatly in a metal tray and kalsaa filled with water and pari filled with rice.

Your Prasad thali should be neatly fixed and well laid out with the mohan bhog sweets and fruits neatly and beautifully set.
